About Our Worship Service
Altar Guild - The members of the Altar Guild are responsible for preparing the altar appropriately for service which includes putting out liturgical items, linens and special hangings for the appreciate season. Contact person Iris Ellis
Acolytes - The purpose of the Acolyte is to assist the priest during the service on Sunday and when requested.
Choir - The choirs serve as the song leaders each Sunday. Choir rehearsals are Wednesday 7-9PM
Eucharistic Ministers - The Eucharistic Ministers are a group pf men and women who serve at the altar and assist the priest. They are specially trained and licensed by the bishop to read the scripture lessons, to help to administer the Holy Communion at the Eucharist and to make the sacrament to the sick and the homebound. Lay readers - Lay readers are church volunteers who participate in the service as readers of the scripture lessons and prayers of the people when needed.
Usher Guild - Ushers greet and extend a warm welcome to all attending especially to visitors and newcomers. They distribute bulletins and help with seating. Ushers also take up the offering, provide a count of the congregation to the priest. They assist parishioners in moving to and from the altar rail during communion. Flowers - Flowers are placed on the altar to the Glory of God as an expression of devotion, thanks offering and memorials. Flowers can be given every Sunday in the year except during the Lenten season. Christmas and Easter parishioners are asked to make donation of Poinsettias and Easter lilies. Coffee hour - Coffee hour is a fellowship hour after Sunday services and sometimes at other fellowship events. Food, friendship and fellowship are shared. Hostess/Host is asked to donate a small snack and beverages.
