ORGANIZATIONS
EPISCOPAL CHURCHWOMEN (ECW) - All women parishioners have the opportunity to assist the church in Christ’s work through ministry, fellowship and stewardship. The annual Women’s Day celebration occurs in June. At the celebration the women give donations to the high school graduates of St. John Meetings are the second Sunday of the month after the 11AM service. Contact person Pamela McFarlane
MEN'S CLUB - All male parishioners provide opportunities for fellowship, service and stewardship. They have an annual Men’s Day celebration usually Epiphany Sunday . They host a coffee hour monthly. On Mother’s Day they celebrate the women of the church. They annually raise and donate money to the church. The men meet the second Sunday of the month 10AM. Contact person Austin Parkinson
COMMITTEES
BUILDINGS and GROUNDS Under the leadership of the Junior Warden this committee works with the Sexton to maintain and repair the church building, rectory and grounds. Contact person: Lula Patterson
CAPITAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE This committee solicits pledges and donations from the congregation and other sources to finance our Capital Improvement plan for the church. The plan is three year plan with six phases. We have completed three of the six phases. Contact person Gertrude Lee
CHRISITAN EDUCATION This committee provides spiritual and academic programs for the children, youth and adults through the Sunday School. Bible Study and the Lenten Spiritual Series Contact person Evelyn Thompson-Jones
EVANGELISM This committee reaches out to the congregation and the community to promote the Gospel Contact person Donna Philbert
FINANCE Chaired by the Treasurer this committee works to ensure the fiscal health of the church by supporting the Vestry in the maintenance of its income and expenses, Contact person Melvin Lee
FUND RAISING This committee plans and implements plans to generate income to help the church with its ministry. Contact person Dawn Warren
HOSPITALITY This committee coordinates the coffee hours, oversees other fellowship gatherings and receives guest at the church. Contact person Pam McFarlane
NEWSLETTER This committee is the writers, editors and publishers of the church newsletter. Their goal is to keep the congregation informed about events in the church, community, diocese and the National church.. Articles and photos are always welcome by the committee. OUTREACH & FELLOWSHIP The committees provides assistance in the parish and community as needed. They coordinate the food distribution and the Adopt-A-Family gift giving. Contact person Lula Patterson
PRAYER BREAKFAST COMMITTEE This committee organizes the church’s prayer breakfast which is a time the congregation gathers to pray for the church and themselves. We pray to the acknowledgement of God in our lives. Contact person Lula Patterson
SAFE CHURCH COMMITTEE This is a new committee works jointly with the priest to promote a safe church for all members of the church.
STEWARDSHIP This committee works with the Vestry to encourage the St. John’s family to develop a higher level of spiritual commitment by giving time, talent and treasure to the God’s service Contact person Christina Lightbourne
YOUTH MINISTRY This committee oversee the youth group which meets Fridays evenings at the church

EXTERNAL MINISTRIES
ADOPT-A-FAMILY-Annually participate in the Adopt-a-family program of the Family Consultation Service which helps poor people in need at Christmastime.
A1-UNIVERSAL- A program which works with the developmentally disabled which offer After School respite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays 3-6 PM and Weekend Respite Saturdays 10AM-3PM
BISHOP'S FUND- We makes an annual donation.
ECUMENICAL PICNIC -Annually we reach out to other churches in the Community. With neighboring parishioners we gather together to worship and have community. It is also the time to bring about spiritual nourishment, fellowship and sharing good food in a relaxing atmosphere
FOOD DISTRIBUTION-Parishioners donate nonperishable foods to be given to underprivileged families in the community through the local food pantry. Annually we make Thanksgiving baskets for families in the community.
SUMMER DAY CAMP-We offer a 6 week summer program for children ages 5-11 at Mercer School of Theology. It is a fun, educational, spiritual and enjoyable program.
UNITED THANK OFFERING (UTO)-We make an annual donation.
WOMEN ON WEDNESDAY - This female recovery group for drug addicts meets Wednesdays at 6PM.
